1. Introduction to the history and major theories of comparative literature.
2. Examination and discussion of influence studies and their variations.
3. Examination and discussion of parallel studies and their variations.
4. Groups of students (3 in each group) will present their analysis of one approach in comparative literature
5. Each student will write a final report around 3000 characters related to the comparative studies of a Chinese writer, a theme, or a genre.
