Frankly, I really really hated this course because of how much compulsory work there was. Our answers to tutorial questions had to be submitted as a group in slides form every week (except during the proposal marketing plan presentation weeks), the reflection journal was due week 5, proposal slides due week 6 and presented on week 6 7, marketing plan slides due week 11 and presented on week 11 12, and the social media content marketing assignment was due week 13. Prof Irene was nice enough to cancel our week 11 lesson so we had more time to finish up the marketing plan and let all of us present in week 12, but it was really hectic to keep up with everything for this course.
The reflection journal was the most useless thing imo because it just wants you to talk about how you plan to work on the project. It’s been a year and I still don’t get what was the point of forcing us to do and submit that.
Depending on your tutorial class, the frequency you have to present your tutorial answers may vary. My class got the short end of the stick and had to present around once every 2 weeks because we only had 4 groups and our prof would pick 2 groups to present per lesson. Thankfully, it wasn’t a formal presentation and we were allowed to just roughly explain our answers from our tables. She also counted presenting tutorial answers as part of the class participation score.
For the experiments research article critique component, tbh it’s free marks. In terms of time efficiency, it’s probably best if you just went for the experiments imo. There were 3 experiments we needed to do to get the marks.
Also, pray that you get good groupmates. Content wise, 30% comes from your group’s work and also you’ll have to work with them for pretty much the entire semester, so if they suck, your stress levels are probably gonna go through the roof. The proposal is also supposed to lead up to doing the plan, so try to stick to the product and target segment you chose during the proposal when you’re doing the plan unless there’s really major issues, because changing either of those means you’ll most likely have to redo most of your market analysis. Not really ideal unless you like creating more work for yourself for some reason.
The social media content marketing involves discussing with your group to choose 1 scenario out of 2 to market for, and then using generative AI to create marketing material. A draft of the marketing content will be done with the group first, which your tutor will give feedback on, before you improve upon it and include a max 500 word writeup to justify your changes. This was honestly the only part of this course I found fun because I never experimented with using AI to generate images before and learnt a bit more about how to use hashtags effectively on Instagram to increase the chances of such content reaching the right people.I forgot who the lecturer was but he seemed to teach decently enough? Lectures were hosted online and recorded so if you miss it, you can just watch the recording. Attendance is not taken for lectures.

My prof didn’t allow us to choose group mates. We just got grouped by alphabetical order. Basically did my presentation early on and never attended a single lecture in the entire sem. Never go through tutorial either. Brought the bible passed down by seniors to exam hall without even studying and still somehow managed to get A. Easiest A of my uni life

This mod is heavily influenced based on the prof you get. If your prof likes you, congrats, you probably will get a confirmed A already. I got a very much biased to the other gender prof. Results was really meh. Content and lecturer was really interesting though although a lot of people do not watch the lectures. Group mates selection is SUPERRRRR impt.

Personally, I felt the content was quite interesting because I am interested in marketing and planned to specialise in marketing. However, the workload is really crazy because of the many presentations that need to be done. You’ll need to do individual reflections too.

Marketing concepts were pretty straightforward to grasp. Tutorial questions generally relevant to the topic of the week. The way my professor taught it was based on the slides each group prepared, and with 5 groups, the session may be quite repetitive.
