This course provides an introduction to organic chemistry.
The lectures will cover atomic and molecular orbitals, hybridization, covalent bonding, stereochemistry, alkanes, alkenes, cycloalkanes, substitution reactions (SN1 and SN2), elimination reactions (E1 and E2), conjugation and aromaticity, substitution reactions of aromatic compounds, radical reactions, chemistry of alcohols, glycols, ethers and thiols, carbonyl compounds, simple addition reactions, oxidation and reduction, Grignard reagents, aldol condensations, carboxylic acids and derivatives, amines
