EE1002 PHYSICS FOUNDATION FOR ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING (4.0 AU)

This course aims to build a strong foundation in the relevant physics principles used in the design of common electrical and electronic devices. The course builds on the concepts learned in the common engineering curriculum’s first semester physics course. This course focuses on fundamental concepts that are key to EEE students in preparation for subsequent studies, and are utilized daily by electrical and electronics engineering professionals. You will learn the relationship between physics concepts and their applications in EEE.
Contents: Introduction of electromagnetic fields and applications. Electromagnetic in electronics, circuits and communications. Introduction to light and principles of geometric optics. Principles of wave optics. Introduction to quantum physics and applications. Applications of quantum physics in electronics and lasers.
