One of the most fked up modules.
Prof wont explain how to apply the things you are supposed to learn, and wont help you in any wayJune 2, 2022 -
One of the hardest mod in NTU. Prof Yap and Prof hirotaka part is generally easy to understand. But the tutorials questions are quite challenging so do expect to spend hours doing it. The last part taught by Prof Zhou is hard to grasp due to his monotonous speech in the lams video.
Prof yap will usually let u score well in your CAs (40%) to let you boost your confidence for this mod before slaughtering you in the finals. The questions for finals will make you question your intelligence and whether studying engineering is a right choice.

The contents are actually quite straightforward, but the questions are challenging.
The LAMS lectures are fine, some of the tutors are pretty good and approachable (e.g. Prof Hirotaka, Prof Liu Shukui).
Tips: Review lectures regularly and attempt different practice questions. While it is helpful to redo the same kind of question multiple times to understand them, it is also important to try different questions to expand our knowledge. You can find good questions to try from PYP. Even though you may not get the correct answer, the thinking process will help you understand the topic better.
Also, do not hesitate to email your prof if you got any questions. You already paid for school fees already, so just get them to help you. Just ask any prof teaching the module, it does not have to be your own prof.June 2, 2021 -
The prof is shit. Can’t understand shit. The prof is so unprofessional. Just because of bad reviews, he decided to set the exam hard. Worst prof ever. Only know how to write textbook.

One of the harder courses in MAE (4th or 5th maybe?). Content covers most stuff in Kinematics and Kinetics contents & adds in vectors in resolving problems. Complexity lies in the fact the Finals (60%) usually has new questions that aren’t covered in tutorials/textbook, so practice is key!
The lecturers are alright, but some tutors may have difficulty communicating their knowledge/ideas effectively, so be prepared to ask questions!

Easily one of the hardest course in MAE. The concepts are actually really simple to grasp but incredibly difficult to apply if attempting on a new problem you’ve never seen before.
Acing the finals would require complete mastery of the textbook problems and pray similar questions appear in the finals.
