This course introduces theory of design in an intermediate to advanced level.
1. Principle of design process, motivation and translation.
2. Develop charts to rank materials according the objective. Use charts to obtain the global overview of engineering materials and develop strategy in the design of new materials.
3. A 10 week group design project on materials-related topics

MS3015 is a project based module which involves coming up with a technical idea and business report. It it worthwhile to note that is it important to have a great team and for everyone to be on the same page in order to have solid ideas and the business report is pretty high on weightage as well.

Group project that requires you to write a business report, technical report, and an overall presentation. The main objective of the projects is to come up with a product. Best to start writing the reports as early as possible as final week will be quite packed.
